  • High value is placed on previous, successful experience in the classroom and, in particular, prior experience with the International Curriculum or IB programme.

The role of the Drama Teacher is essentially to build and maintain a successful Drama program within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conductive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry and in conjunction with the International Baccalaureate PYP program. The drama teacher needs to have knowledge and experience in a variety of drama techniques, approaches and concepts and is comfortable teaching a variety of kindergarten age students. The drama teacher will be expected to be actively involved in school productions. Responsibilities: Teaching:
  • To teach drama classes as required for all year groups
  • To plan unit lessons and curriculum through collaboration, planning, and teaching, the PYP framework of concepts within contexts, and inquiry-based learning that is balanced with specific skills of ‘how to learn’, leading learning towards the IB vision and the aims of individual subject areas
  • To work and collaborate with grade teachers to enrich curriculum and student learning
  • To differentiate and target learning to students’ needs and aptitude levels
  • To be culturally and linguistically responsive and proactive
  • Discusses and demonstrates vocal and body expression to teach acting styles, character development, and personality projection.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience, which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment and achievement

The role of the Art Teacher is essentially to build and maintain a successful Arts program within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conductive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry and in conjunction with the International Baccalaureate PYP program. Responsibilities: Teaching:
  • To teach art classes as required for all year groups
  • Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history
  • Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art
  • Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting
  • Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, monoprinting
  • Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art
  • Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique
  • Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities

We are looking for a librarian that Provides the expertise necessary to ensure that library provision is aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of our school. Roles and responsibilities • To manage and be in charge of the library and supervise users at all times • To create an environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, resource-based instructional practices, and collaboration with teaching staff • Arrange visiting authors, speakers and poets in collaboration with the PYP co-ordinator • To carry out regular maintenance of library stock including withdrawals and stock replacement to maintain a relevant collection that supports all learners at all school sites • To carry out classification and cataloging of resources using the Library Management System, and supervising labeling, protection, display and shelving of library stock by the Librarian • To maintain a good knowledge and understanding of current and classic fiction and non-fiction materials • To support learners to identify, locate and access the information they require • Collect and analyze data to demonstrate correlations between the library use and pupil engagement and achievement • Remain current in professional practices and developments, information technologies, and educational research applicable to school library programs • Ensure appropriate security measures exist to protect library resources • Effectively manage the overdue system; • Liaise with the PYPcoordinator and Finance Manager to ensure books are returned from pupils who are leaving or charges for replacement raised in a good time. • Promote the library services to the school community • To provide suitable enrichment activities (e.g. homework club/games) • Explore options for extending the resources (e.g. through the availability of free national resources) • Share with the learning community collaboratively developed and up-to-date school policies concerning such issues as materials selection, circulation, reconsideration of materials, copyright, privacy, and acceptable use • Manage the library budget on a yearly basis • To promote awareness of resources and services at Inset days • Other duties reasonable to assist in the smooth operation of the library
